Connecticut Memorial
During the Summer of 2007 a memorial bench for Leonard was placed at Knollwood Beach in Old Saybrook. Leonard spent many summers in Old Saybrook as did the rest of our family. His Grandmother, Mary Brewer Allen, has been visiting Knollwood for over seventy years and a bench was also placed in her honor. Bettina Brewer was responsible for the idea in the first place and then bringing it to fruition. When the supplier of the bench, Robert Fers, Inc. of North Haven, Connecticut, learned of Leonard's situation, they provided the bench at no cost.
A plaque with the following inscription has been placed on the bench since the above pictures were taken.
